Just had a quick look on the NMC website and according to them (and they are our governing body) 6 months post reg experience is required. here is the link http://www.nmc-uk.org/nmc/main/publications/registeringAsANurseOrMidwife.pdf Page 10

baring in mind the time going through process you will more than likely have a bit more experience under your belt :)
