i'm also an lpn. i live in tampa too. what are you currently studying for (prerequisites, nc 1, nc 2, nc 3)? what part of tampa do you live in?

For now A&P then MICRO & nc1. I live around waters and the veterans area.

You must have been reading my mind.

I'm currently taking A & P 1 at HCC - Dale Mabry. I have a good instructor. Then I'm going to take A & P 2 then Micro. I could probably test out of the A & P but I felt like I needed to take it.

I was taking Algebra but had to drop it again. I just can't get it through my head. I"ll wait and take that after micro.

I have the College Network A&P, Microbiology and NC 1 guides.

Have you officially enrolled in Excelsior? I have not. I know I will have to take the additional classes but I just did not have the money.

I live in North Tampa on the end of N. Dale Mabry around Gaither High School.

I live in the Tampa Bay area and would like to start a CPNE study group if anyone is interested. I have completed NC 1 -7. Just some tips, go to www.istudysmart.com, they have great study materials, you will pass with their materials.

Thanks for the useful information. I'll do that.

I find study groups very helpful. If there is something you don't understand, sometimes others in the group can explain it.

Any additional suggestions for NC 1?

I am enrolled now and thank god no math with them I can't make it past elem algebra :( That's ok though math is a hard thing. What do you think of your A&P class?

I like my A & P class. I have a good instructor. He provides Powerpoints for each chapter then he tells you what might be on the test. He also lets us record his lectures.

Did you get my PM I sent you earlier? It had my contact info.

I need to start getting ready for Microbiology and NC 1. We don't have to take NC 2 from what I understand because they give us credit for our LPN license.

Where did you go to school for your LPN? Erwin, Galen?

I did not get the pm not sure why I didin't. I went to Keiser Career College in St. Pete. It was pretty good other than the typical issues. We don't have to take nc 2 because we are LPN's already. I am so excited to get this over with. :)

gsjohnston,

The quick way to check your PM's is to click on your name in a post then a drop down menu will come up. Click on "Send a PM to gsjohnston". When the new window opens up, then look to the left and you will then see the Inbox/Outbox. Let me know if you still didn't get it.

I went to Erwin and graduated in1996.

hello mondragon, i am new to EC and the forum. did you find that outside study materials were necessary or do you think it's possible to pass the tests using only the textbooks and course outline? thank you

also in tampa (gandy) but i am still waitting for my official evaluation. looking for someone to study with in the nursing 3-6 range.

yes, use the EC study guide.also I bought Sauders NCLEX, it helped alot,I found the same questions in that subject area on the EC exams, with the exception of NC7.Also join a yahoo study group, they help too.The biggest thing I can say is read and highlight the areas that are mentioned in the EC study guide.hope this helps. For NC3 use Fluid & Electrolytes made easy, buy on Amazon or discount book site.
