Excelsior ASN

Hi, I'm a LPN who's worked in home health for almost 4years. I've only done home health for smaller companies. I recently started thinking about going back to school for an ASN. I've heard about Excelsior's program many time and has also read many discussions on allnurses. What I haven't read is LPNs with minor clinical experience doing the program. I guess I'm saying I'm nervous about doing it passing all of the exams only to get to the CPNE and fail!! Do I need alot if experience or can I be reintroduced to the skills through workshops and study books? I'd love some advice from you all who's did the program and passed or waiting for CPNE.

Thanks

I went through the program back in 2005 it is a great program if your a self starter. I went to the CPNE seminar and refresher training ground. I watched videos. Created my own clinical CPNE in my home and went through it with my kids. It's doable if you are a self starter most definitely.

Thanks for your reply. Whats a refresher training ground? I'm also thinking about using achieve test prep, whats your take on that. Do you think it's beneficial or a waste of money?

Spellcheck... Sorry refresher course. They have a training course that's not associated with excelsior that I went to that worked well for me.

You really don't need a middleman that costs extra money just go directly through excelsior. achieve is a tutor service not a school you get your credits throug hexcelsior.
