Hello,
I am a LPN from Kansas and was thinking about Excelsior. From what I understand, some states do not accept Excelsior but if I complete my RN then get into a BSN program that IS nationally accredited, would the non accreditation from Excelsior be cancelled out because I got my BSN??? I ask this cause I know Kansas doesn't accept Excelsior due to it's clinical requirements that the program doesn't meet. So that's why I want to know if I got my BSN following after, if it'll cancel out that problem.

The KS BON does not endorse your bachelor's degree. They endorse your RN license. So, if the program you went through to get that license is not approved by the BON, they won't endorse that license to their state.

Why would you go through Excelsior that your state won't accept, then get your BSN? Just go and get your BSN. If your state doesn't recognize excelsior, it would be a complete waste of money to go there.

State Board Requirements - Excelsior College - excelsior.edu
This is on Excelsior's website. Compare this to what is on the Kansas BON. Excelsior is accepted in Kansas; you'd just have to become licensed in another state, work to earn the required 1000 paid RN hours, then endorse into Kansas. I just retrieved this information from the EC website. Like I said, check with the BON in your state to make sure.
Oh, and Excelsior is accredited. Your state, Kansas, does not outright accept the college for other reasons, (possibly the clinical component as you stated), not their accreditation status.
