Does anyone else have to take ERI exams? We have had to take them in every subject since we started but tomorrow we are scheduled to take the RN Assessent Standard Test D. I'm soo nervous because this is the last one we have to pass to graduate in December! We have 3 tries. Have any of you taken it before? Have any study tips?

We were told NOT to study for it! They wanted us to concentrate on our finals. It is somewhat similar to the NCLEX, so, if you want to study for it I sugest getting an NCLEX review book. Or simply go over all of the questions at the end of each chapter in your books! The first was is easier - the second more cost effective. Relax - the ERI test really isn't that bad, I'm sure you'll do just fine!

The ERI is nothing like the NCLEX!! It is just trick questions. It is only good for stressing out last semester students who go to schools that require an above average score to graduation. It is a scam that school administrators are suckered into. We were told it was a good indicator of passing the NCLEX. That is just BS. People in our school were passing NCLEX 99%, so how is that any data to compare. I have yet to see a statistically significant study on this claim. Shame on you ERI
Since they are trick questions the only way to study is to take their practice questions and remember them and their tricks. I would like to see a study on how many RNs or instructors pass it. Or maybe a study of people who had just passed the NCLEX.
I found the final ERI test to be similar to the NCLEX, as did the others in my graduating class. And amazingly enough, with the scores indicating a possible pass/fail, with the exception of one student - everyone did as the ERI predicted. I won't say that the questions on the ERI are trick questions anymore than the NCLEX questions. Critical thinking is required to answer the questions correctly. Now, I may have a different attitude towards the ERI test because we were required to take it for graduation, BUT, we were NOT required to pass it inorder to graduate. All-though I along with most of my class would have been just fine either way!
