Congrats at getting the job! I am going to school to get my RN right now at OSU-Okmulgee, not in the program yet but hoping on this fall. So for those of you who work for Hillcrest I am curious to know if you have to have your CNA to get hired on there ect.. I want to get on with either Hillcrest b/c of the training they do for ER nurses and would love to get on as a nurse tech.I don't havae my cna but went through st fran nurse tech program. not there any more though. Any advice would help! thanks:D

Man, I have to say the training they do at Hillcrest is above and beyond anything I've seen. Orientation= 4 days pure classroom time, two big handbooks, all day, they feed you breakfast and lunch (we had brisket and chicken, goooooooooood food!). Then when I get out on the floor, they really ease you in, watch for a couple days then gradually work you into working independently. Doing minor care emergency, my orientation is a bit shorter, but I get to take ACLS, PALS, Dysrrythmias, Splinting, etc... AWESOME place to work so far! I am very impressed. :)

They must be interested in you. They invest a lot of money in training nurses, so they won't be pulling your chain. In the ICU's we also take nurses straight out of school sometimes, so don't be surprised that they did the same for you. So go to the interview and relax! Good Luck!!
