ER NP Options

I know there are ERNP programs out there but I was wondering.. if someone already has their FNP, is there a certificate option to add on the emergency aspect of it?

TIA

sorry for duplicate message, I keep getting error messages when posting and it doesn't show me that it went through. I also cant see how to delete it so I'm adding this message.

Im an FNP, in the ER setting with no 'ERNP' certificate. I do have experience as an RN in the ED. I also did an urgent care rotation in my NP program. I work in the main Ed, no fast track.

I'm an RN in the ER, in my 5 year plan I think I'm gonna start working on my NP, but I don't really get the difference between ERNP and FNP, I've only seen FNPs in the ER. If I got ERNP would it limit me? Seems like FNP are really everywhere, being so generalized does it help or hurt?

Just go for FNP. You can work ERwirh an FNP. I don't know anyone who is ERNP and I work for a emergency medicine group that employs over a 100 NPs.

thanks for the advice YoutubeTheNP

The other issue to consider is the Consensus Model which is coming to a state near you!

If that is in enacted in your state you will find that FNP's scope of practice might be limiting to you.

Read up on it before making career decisions and check your states nurse practice act.
