ENPC

Hey all.. i am a new grad still on orientation... my er is having us take enpc.. any hints for the test.. I've been on orientation for 12 weeks, and can honestly say I have had one pedi patient :) so experience is limited. I had several as an EMT, but well we all know being a nurse is a whole new ball game.. thanks!

ENPC. Definitely a lot harder than PALS.. much more involved. I have BLS ACLS CCRN TNCC.

My background is adult and pediatric trauma. Intensive care of every denomination . I have not touched a child in 15 years. Enpc is a little bit tricky. I took the class past two days. Half the people failed. My advice is to read the book or at the very least take some test questions. The class does not give you the answers. There was questions about Pediatric psychiatric questions and overdosing. I was clueless . Point being... you need to know your stuff. You can wing certain exams but not this one.

The lectures in class as well as the online modules cover the majority of the testing material, but it is expected that students review the book as well. I am an ENPC instructor, and you are right — can't wing this one, or TNCC really (I teach that one too). Not everyone passes. I think people have gotten used to the kind and gentle AHA courses and assume they don't need to crack the book or pay attention for these ENA courses. Not true!
