Endorsement Process

Hello fellow Nurses! I just passed my NCLEX! And my license is from the board of nursing in hawaii but i live here in Texas. But unfortunately, i'm not eligible to get an endorsement here in texas. So maybe you can give me suggestions where to endorse my license in one of the compact state so I can still work here in Texas without working in other compact state. Please pleas i need help. Thank you!

You have to reside in that particular compact state to have a compact license from that state, so this is not a loophole for you. For example, if you try to endorse into South Carolina, a compact state, while not residing in South Carolina, it is a single state license only, not multistate. Why are you ineligible? And why did you take your NCLEX in Hawaii if you live in Texas?

I lived in hawaii for 3yrs but end up not passing the nclex. So last year i moved here in texas. So i tried to pass new application here in texas butt im not eligible to take it because i graduated 5yrs ago. So i decided to stick with the hawaii boards. And now that i passed my nclex, since i was not eligible before im thinking im not eligible too for endorsement

More than likely, if you graduated from an accredited program, and passed the nclex in one of the 50 states, you'd be elegible for endorsement. Some states have practice requierements though like practicing "X" amount of hours before being eligible along with other state dependent requirements you need to meet.

Don't assume, OP — check with the Texas Board. You might be creating issues where there aren't any. Good luck!!
