Emtala education

What EMTALA information is given to the nurses during orientation and then annually? I am trying to determine how other EDs keep the staff informed of the latest guidelines and their implications. Thanks!!

We do annual online EMTALA training. It's mandatory. Very informative too! :rotfl:

I work for an HCA hosptial which has hospitals across the country, we do online education through the Sullivan group in order to get some reduction of the corporate insurance premium. We are required to do the EMTALA on a yearly basis which is 10 CEU's and very comprehensive, there are other classes as well in everything from appendicitis to MI's. Also our hospital pays us 4 hrs salary for doing the EMTALA one. flaerman :)
