Hi there!
I've been a nurse for 3.5 years and just began Travel Nursing. I've finally decided that I really want to go into informatics once I'm done traveling. I want to know how I can become an EMR/EHR Implementation Specialist. I want to work in a similar fashion as I currently do as a traveler. I have McKesson, Cerner, and Sunrise (Allscripts) under my belt so far.
Any and all advice is welcome
Thanks!!!

You need to get trained and certified in Epic and then you can work as a consultant but you can't train as an independent. You have to be sponsored by a company. My advice is to get a position in a company who works with Epic and who will train you and then after a year you can branch out on your own.

My resume is on Career Builder and since it states that I'm trained in Epic and went through an Epic rollout, I've had a few recruiters call me, asking if I was interested in being an Epic trainer.
But yeah, since about 60-70% of facilities use Epic, that would be the most valuable system to learn.
