I just received a note from my agent that I am going to have my interview at the US embassy on May 3. What are the things that I need to prepare prior to my interview? Do I have to go to St. Luke's for my medical check up at my own date or do I have to get an appointment first? Please help.
thanks :)

for your physical examination... bring your appointment letter, have it photcopied for each applicant. then prepare 3 pcs 2x2 visa photos, $95 to be paid in peso multiplied to their exchange rate of 52pesos. also, be prepared to wait......... as in long waits. and the physical examination takes 2 solid days. you can go there few weeks ahead of your scheduled date. Had our PE last monday only. hope this helps you.

these are my concerns:
(1) who will give us the appointment letter?
(2) how important is police clearance if one happens to
work in KSA 20 years ago.
(3) During the physical examination, is skin diseases (itchy
part of my son's body) a hindrance or a delay?
Our case: we are still waiting for the
DS230 to arrive since visa fee bills
has already been forwarded.
Thanks!
hi. appointment letter (included with you packet 4 or the visa issuance package) will be sent depending who applied it for you. e.g. my first appointment letter was mailed to my agency in the US, though i need to reschedule it because i dont have an nclex yet. then the second notice was mailed directly to us, because i was the one who rescheduled it from the ebassy hotline.
regarding police clearance, important only if you went there after the age of 16 and stayed there for more than 6 months. ask the concerned embassy how to procure the police clearance.
regarding the skin disease... upon PE, the panel physician will decide whether it needs treatment and further examination. then they'll decide if they'll clear your child from the PE.
good luck. hope these helps
I already requested for a new appointment date. My agent however, insistted that I go on the date specified on my appointment letter and will not opt to reschedule my appointment date per lawyer's advice. I don't see the point why not. Besides all the required document from my employer will only be sent to me after I pass tyhe NCLEX. Until now I am still waiting for the Letter of Eligibility from Ca BON. Will making a request for a new appointment date cause me big trouble? Please let me know how you made the request and how long the embassy respond to your request. Thank you
thank you! jmo2002, for answering rightaway my concerns. what keeps bothering me now is concerning our ds230. we hav forwarded already our visa fee bills to our lawyer last March 2006, but until now we have not received that forms yet. I received feedbacks that there were some recruiting agencies here that will provide rightaway the ds230 forms & filled up by the applicants. I read also some posts here stating that NVC is not accepting those downloaded DS230 in the internet, what is accceptable is the one with a barcoded sheet. Can this be possible? how many weeks NVC will send us the DS230 if payment was made last month? thanks!

Interview appointment dates are being SCHEDULED BY THE NVC, and not by the U.S. Embassy. Due to the volume of cases that were being processed (take for example the US Embassy Manila which is one the world's biggest visa issuing post) it will take more than 3 months to have another interview date.

It took a few weeks after the bill fee was paid by my employer (I'm a direct hire) before I got the DS 230 forms. So if it was paid last month, no worries and it should be there with you soon.
As for the forms, the one they will send is a generic form which don't have barcodes. The barcoded forms are those with the introductory letter/instructions. There is only one barcoded sheet which you need to submit together with the actual forms which you may download. Just make sure the version you're using is 2007...you can see it on the upper left portion of the sheets. Again these forms are generic, there's even a note at the bottom that one can get these documents free of charge form any consular office
Again, thank you daning! for sharing with us some insights! More power!
hi again. may i ask why would you like to request for a new appointment date? my agent requested that i reschedule my visa appointment because it is mentioned in my job offer and our contract that i will be petitioned as a registered nurse complete with all the exams before i get approved by the embassy (something like that, i forgot my agent's explanation already). i had friends who were able to go through the interview and had their visa without the nclex, as per employer/ agent and nurse agreement. they just took their exams upon arriving there. i think it's in your best interest why they told you not to reschedule anymore. my first intrvw date was nov 18, i cancelled it october 20 as instructed by my agent because i had no nclex. i passed the exam jan 25, so i i resheduled by calling the embassy hotline feb 6 (had to wait for the nclex hard copy of result). recieved the new sched 6 wks aftr, and scheduled april 18. it takes a while. hope this helps
hi! request for the DS 230 forms will come from the NVC. once they recieve the IV fee bills they'll start processing, and send in another letter, now requesting for you and each accompanying family members to fill up the DS230 forms. the wait will vary, for us, 2 months. any ds230 forms you can use as long as their the 2007 version. hope this helps you! good luck, it's worth all the wait

@gabgab: about your medical if it is not yet done, go to st. lukes around 3-4pm wed or thursday, because you will be done with everything before 6 pm, you won't even notice the line. When i had my medical, co-applicants were there even before 1pm but we all finished at about the same time;) you would still be asked to go back for the results the next day but just do the same strategy and you'll be done without too much hassle... as for the interview schedule, i suggest you do as per advice of your agent. Consul might give you the visa or might hold it but you won't need to go through another interview, they'll just ask you to pass the additional requirements as soon as you have it. I think it has to be submitted within a year or else you need to request another interview. They will just review your case after you complete the requirements and they'll send your visa. Godbless!
