Electives for RN-BSN

Published

I am just making a thread for questions regarding the upper level electives that are required. I searched on here for information specific to this topic, and didn't find a thread devoted to it. It would be nice if people add to the list. I know the following classes/certifications would fufill the 2 upper level electives that are required:

TNCC

CCRN

Medical Terminology---must be upper level, not from a junior/community college.

PCCN worked for me.

Specializes in ICU.

I've heard TNCC would serve as an elective, but not from an official source. Where did you get this information?

My advisor. I know that sometimes people get incorrect information from their advisors, so just ask your own advisor to double check before you spend time or money on it. I haven't submitted it yet, but she verified it for me.

CEN worked for me.

Specializes in MICU.

Registeredin06 did you ever get to use your TNCC for the elective I have tried 2 times and my new advisor says no. Do I keep pushing or can I not use it.

Were you able to use your TNCC i have capstone left and thats it if I can use my TNCC to get out of this elective.

Can i use my CHPN as an elective?

Has anyone had the CCM accepted?
