eICU's and Drug barcodes

I just read an article in Information Week-take a look-

http://www.informationweek.com/story/showArticle.jhtml?articleID=10000106

It spoke of 2 hospitals with eICU's. Web cam's that are viewed by a doctor that is offsite linked to monitoring equipment, with ONE nurse physically on site. Now, I am not a nurse, or even cloe (starting nursing school in 2 weeks), but this just doesn't seem safe to me. How do they think that adding this technology will be safer for patients in ICU's when the patient/nurse ratio will be extremely high.

Let me know what you think!
