EEG or END Degree

Hello,

Could anyone tell me where I can get an EEG or END associates degree, certificate or training? Preferably in the Dallas/Fort Worth area.

Thanks :)

Maybe Google ?

The ASET website has information about schools and programs.

It looks like the closest 2 year degree program is in Waco, TX, at McLennan Community College.

You may also want to keep your eyes out for posting for END/EEG/NCS/EMG techs on job posting sites and work any connections at area neuro practices. I worked as an END tech for 5 years prior to nursing school. I heard about a job opening through word of mouth and was trained on the job. Then I took the national registration exam in NCS one year later, which work paid for.

Thanks Zucchetto!! I'm working towards my BSN, but would like to start working in a hospital setting. I'd like to specialize in neurology/neuro OR; I figured becoming an EEG Tech would be a good start. I heard some hospitals do on the job training, but most hospitals now require some education/experience in neuro. You did exactly what I'd like to do. Did you have any training/education in END prior to working as an END Tech?

Any information would be helpful. Thanks again for your input :)

I had zero experience! I had a degree in Philosophy and had been working as a secretary in Neurology before I started as a tech. It was an outpatient setting, so that might have made a difference, but I know my hospital's neurophysiology department does train techs with no experience in EEG/EP/IOM. I am also in a smaller metropolitan area than you are, though.
