  1. When I walked by the Student Affairs office on Wednesday, I saw a big postal bin full of "big envelopes" that looked like it was on its way out the door. So check your mail today or tomorrow if you live reasonably close to NY. :)
  2. Whoops, my prereq GPA was actually 3.95. I did them all at the U of R.
  3. What I was told about financial aid is that there is no package, per se. When you receive the admission materials, you get details about applying for a few small scholarships. You also need to file a FAFSA to be eligible for loans facilitated through the university, and you can take persona loans as well. You are also free to pursue other scholarships that you can find yourself. It is a lot different, financial aid wise, than a lot of undergraduate programs.
  4. I was admitted to the September 2011 cohort, but my overall GPA was 3.78, and my pre-requisite GPA was 3.74, I think.
  5. I had zero experience! I had a degree in Philosophy and had been working as a secretary in Neurology before I started as a tech. It was an outpatient setting, so that might have made a difference, but I know my hospital's neurophysiology department does train techs with no experience in EEG/EP/IOM. I am also in a smaller metropolitan area than you are, though.
  6. The ASET website has information about schools and programs. It looks like the closest 2 year degree program is in Waco, TX, at McLennan Community College. http://www.aset.org/i4a/pages/index.cfm?pageid=3584 You may also want to keep your eyes out for posting for END/EEG/NCS/EMG techs on job posting sites and work any connections at area neuro practices. I worked as an END tech for 5 years prior to nursing school. I heard about a job opening through word of mouth and was trained on the job. Then I took the national registration exam in NCS one year later, which work paid for.
  7. I am part of the Fall 2011 ABPNN cohort. I tried to join the Facebook group a week or so ago, and just tried again, but it does not seem to be working. I am an alum of the U of R and a Rochester resident, so if anyone has any questions about the area, please ask!
