Subject:New Policy - REPEATING EXCELSIOR COLLEGE COURSES
In an effort to continuously improve our degree programs starting November 2010, enrolled undergraduate students who receive an F (or D grade in core or professional component requirements) will be notified at the time of their evaluation that they may retake the course only once. If a student receives a second F (or D grade in core or professional component requirements) the student will be notified that he/she cannot retake the course again.
If the student is unsuccessful in a course that is required to be completed at Excelsior College, the advisor will let them know they cannot remain in the current degree program. The advisor will discuss other program options with the student. The student must send in a written request to transfer to a different degree program within 30 business days. There will be no fee for this transfer.
If the student does not send in the transfer request within 30 days, the advisor will direct the Office of Registration and Records to transfer the student to the most suitable degree program based on the initial conversation with the student. There will be no fee for this transfer.
Please contact an advisor if you have any questions.

Looks like that's for courses, not exams. I'd ask for clarification on that, though.

How disappointing is this true for Excelsior Tests?!?! So I would have to PASS every single nursing concept on my first try or face the consequences of never getting an RN education via distance EVER?
No. Again, this is for EC courses, not EC exams.

For the nursing exams, I am pretty sure you get up to three or four tries to pass it. They just made a new policy about academic probation but I haven't read that e-mail. Like Lunah said though, the nursing exams are not courses. They are credit by exams.
