Easiest Transfer BSN Programs in Texas

Published

Hi guys!

So I'm currently a sophomore at a very competitive university OOS trying to transfer into a BSN program somewhere in Texas (where I'm a resident). The problem is...my GPA is terrible (3.1 but definitely going to be around 3.2 or a little higher by the end of this quarter). One of the schools I talked to in Texas told me that they don't consider the average grades of the university you're coming from when ranking applicants so my GPA is definitely very, very low compared to others. I feel like I'm basically out of contention to get into the nursing program at the school I'm at (Top 5 nursing program in nation) and I would love to go home and save some money too. I was wondering if you guys knew of any schools in Texas that were easier to get into or at least have holistic admissions?

I know there are others out there who are struggling like myself so I just wanted to say... Y'ALL WE GOT THIS :inlove: even though I'm dying over here :')

Any and all help appreciated. Thanks!

I would look into the private BSN programs at schools such as Texas Christian Univ, Southwestern Adventist Univ, and Abilene Christian Univ.

Due to the costly tuition and fees charged by these schools, the applicant pool is usually smaller, so your chances of securing admission with a lower GPA are good.

Do you think a really high TEAS/Hesi test score could offset the lower GPA? But I will definitely look more into those schools! TCU I have actually been looking into quite a bit already :)

If you are looking into TCU you won't save any money but it will be easier to get into. $129,000 for a BSN is really high compared to other colleges in the area. I would rather retake some classes to raise my GPA than go there it would be easier on the wallet. Good luck to you!
