Durham Tech Fall 2015 ADN Program

Hello everyone! How are you? I am starting this thread because I intend to apply to Durham Tech's ADN program that begins next fall. I know this may be a bit early, but I would like to have a place where all of us who will be applying can share our doubts, frustrations, and excitements, while helping one another. Anyone who is currently in the program or has already graduated is more than welcome to contribute your valuable experiences and opinions, and all of us will be extremely grateful.

I just took the TEAS at Durham Tech this past Thursday, and thank goodness I passed. When I first got there in the morning, I was a bit worried because I was the only person there to take the test. For the students who already took the TEAS before me, how did your tests go? I hope you all successfully passed the test and gained experiences. I thought the reading section was a bit harder than I expected, but it could be due to the fact that I wasn't in the test-taking mood yet so early in the morning. Now I am just waiting for the online admissions packet to be updated to the 2015 version. I am actually surprised that it hasn't been updated yet, has it been the norm for past years? I cannot say I am not getting anxious! ;)

Yeah, you really made a good choice to keep a copy for yourself. Good foresight! I hope the process goes smooth for you, and just tell me if you need me for anything!

Great, thanks!

You are welcome! Btw, I just went to see my advisor and found out that my placement test scores are out of date, so I have to retake them...-_- Keep me posted on how yours are going!

Oh my...I took mine in 2011 and they are good until 2016. I think...lol.

Good luck!

Thank you so much! I am going to take the tests tomorrow. Presumably they are going to take all day, so I am heading out to look for some lunch to buy for myself for tomorrow. You have a great evening!

Hi,

Do you have to take all of the tests? Do you have to take them tomorrow? As far as I know you do not have to retake all of them if you have taken English or Reading or Math in the last 5 years.

Yeah, I am going to take the NCDAP and COMPASS Reading and Writing tomorrow. The placement test scores I had on file were my SAT scores. Although I've taken college-level English courses, Statistics, and Calculus in the recent years, my SAT scores are more than five years old, so I think that's why my advisor told me to take the placement tests as I listed above. Well, rather than being stressed, it is more inconvenient for me, because I have to find the time to take these tests. I am not preparing for anything in particular; I just want to get them over with as soon as possible, so I can spend the time and effort to do other things. -_-

Good afternoon! I took the tests and passed.....thank goodness. How are your applications going? Did DTCC update your placement scores? Have you taken the Versant speaking and ESL listening tests yet?

Hi,

They have finished updating my curriculum transcripts. However, to morrow I have to take in person my placement test scores because they got lost, then I will ask more information about the Versant speaking and the ESL compass test, and take the tests in the beginning of December.

What classes are you taking? Or what do you have left to do for the ADN program? I am taking Pathophysiology right now and I am studying for the drug calculation test for WTCC. I am thinking to take a Math class fo Spring. I have never taken a college Math level class, so it will be interesting!

I am very happy for you that you passed your tests! Congratulations!

Hi, I want to share that WTCC finally called me. Mrs. Smith told me that I was accepted into the ADN program for Spring2015.

Congratulations! I am so happy to hear that all your hard work have paid off, although I am so sad that we couldn't be classmates. Nevertheless, I hope we will still talk in the future. So happy for you!
