dumb question

Nurses Career Support

Published

I finished LVN/LPN school and have yet to take my boards. But in the meanwhile...what jobs in the medical field can I get without being certified or licensed? (i.e. caregiver, CNA, MA...)

Thanks in advance for all your input.

I dont know what kind of facilities you can work ( long term care, hospital), but alot of facilities will hire graduate nurses. Under the direction of nurses, they can do admission, discharges, nursing procedures (foley insertion, wound assessment, dressing changes) and they will also teach you tons tons of paperwork that nurses have to do everyday. After you pass your boards, they will hire you directly as a staff nurse. So just call the facilities you are interested in working and ask them if they are hiring graduate nurses.

that is a good question.I think you can work as a CNA.

Specializes in Nephrology, Cardiology, ER, ICU.

Usually its not that long a period of time between graduating and boards - why do you want another job in between?
