I am not sure that anyone would "keep" anything from you during the interview. Most employers when they do their employment screen would do a mandatory drug screen....not sure why anesthesia school would be any different, especially considering the inherent risks.

If drug testing is what your worried about now, then your headed to the wrong profession. I can see major patient endangerment and federal offenses in your future. The access, availability and low supervision coupled with a tendancy to self medicate is a disasterous combo!

i think the point is being missed here.. i'm not worried about the testing at all, i was merely wondering if schools drug test, or even mention it at all.. that's it.

although, i could see myself getting high before class/clinical :studyowl: (on my own endorphins) as i run not to be late:jester:

I was drug tested during my ADN program at the beginning and radomly throughout the 2 years. I took 2 drug test during my ADN. I had friends that only had the drug test during the start of school and others who name was pulled 5 times. During my BSN I was never tested. I didn't care either way, I knew that at any given that was one test I could always pass with flying colors.

TWU tells you at the interview that they do a drug screen before school starts.

I am in CRNA school now and it is random testing here. We were tested on the first day of school actually.

I hope that you didn't make a big deal about being tested, because if you don't have anything to hide take the swab or the piss and be done with it. If you want to waste all that hard work to get in then go right ahead and argue and get kicked out then the only drug test you will have to worry about is the one you will have to take asking for your old job back.
