Drop Patho?

Published

I really want an A in Patho but my course load is heavy this semester. I could take it next semester, but my university recommends taking it before nursing school. Right now, I made an 85.64 on the first test and 80s on two queizes. The grades are broken down by 70% exams, 10% quizzes and 20% final. Next semester I'm taking dosage calculations, nursing concepts and practicum, healtg assessment and practicum, and perspectives of professional nursing. I'm not sure if it's better to take now or later.

I'd get it done with, unless you can drop it now without penalty of any kind (check that carefully) and audit it for the rest of the semester, then retake for credit next semester. You'll know what you're in for, you'll have a better grasp of the material, and you'll know more about what you need to know for practicum. Yes, it's a really, really good idea to have a good working knowledge of patho before you start caring for, like, sick people. Downside: Pressure to get an A in a tough course while you are being challenged by nursing courses.

IF you are already admitted to the nursing major, then what's the big whoops about getting an A? Finish it up now, take your B, and you don't have the pressure of doing it next semester.

I would take a "B" and keep kicking my can on down the road. :-)

Otherwise, listen to GrnTea......she knows what she is talking about. :-)

Good luck!
