1 Down 9 to Go!

Published

Good Morning All,

I will be taking my last test for English 101 next Tuesday. I should receive an A for this class. Yeah!!! It went by quickly, I hope the rest of my classes will go by as quickly. I have 9 more pre-reqs to go before I apply to NS. I can't wait to start taking my science classes. I think I will enjoy this journey. I am tired from school and working full time but I am sure I will get in the swing. I will be taking 2 classes at a time starting this fall, I hope to continue to get A's. Good Luck to the rest of us and let's keep on trucking:yeah:

Congratulations and good luck with everything!

Hi Rholman,

We are doing the exact same thing!!! I finished English 101 last semester. I too can only take 2 classes at a time. What are you taking in the fall?? I registered for English 102 and psychology.

Hi,

I will be taking Fundamentals of Algebra, Summer B session and in the fall I plan to register for Intermediate Algebra & general pyschology. I have to finish my math classes before I can start my science classes. Hopefully I can start my science classes in Spring 09 . How was your English Class? My professor was soooo boring but very kind and laid back. :p

I had a GREAT english class. Thankfully I got an A.

Being you work full tiem, how on earth are you going to take a summer class? I attempted to but it was way too much for me.

My english class was Summer A session. It wasn't too bad, I had class 2 nights a week. Thankfully, the teacher was easy going. We had 3 essays to do for the term. I loved the fact it was only 6 weeks. I hope the math class won't be too challenging. I really want to apply to NS in 2010, so I don't have any other choice but to take classes Spring, Summer and Fall. Next summer will be challenging considering I might be taking A & P.

I am 42 so I want to be in my new career by age 45

You're lucky. The school I go to has summer classes too but I need to take summer classes at night- and my school has mon-thurs from 6 to 8. That is too much for me because i work 8-5, then I would go straight to school. It would be 9 by the time I got home and I wouldnt have time to study, do homework, eat, shower and be in bed at a normal time

I work the same Mon - Fri 8 - 5. Classes were Tues, Thurs 6:00 - 9:00. It was 9:30 by the time I got home. I did not study the nights I had class. My math class will be, Mon, Wed 6:00 - 10:00, 4 HOURS!!!! because it's a short term. I won't get home till 10:30. Moving forward I will have 2 classes a week during those hours until I finish, so I better get used to it. It's been a little tiring because I am usually in bed and sleep by 9:00pm but I got to do it. I have been an admin for approx 15 to 20 years and I can't take it a minute longer. believe it or not I am currently looking into trying to squeeze in CNA classes just so I can change over careers a little soon and have more flexibility. It's probably overkill, but what have I got to lose. What are your long term goals.

I graduated HS in 2000 and I didnt really know what I wanted to do so I started working in an office. I really liked working so I just stuck with rather than go back to college. Last year I realized that I really want to go back to school and being I have so much office experience I figured I would get my Associates in Business. I started taking and english class and a business class and I hated the business class. IT WAS SOO boring. Then I started looking at other programs the school had and I realized that I dont want to work in an office my whole life - I want to do something fun and interesting and different. I looked into nursing and I spoke to different people and now I am sure that I want to be a nurse. The thought of it excites me so much! I am nervous because people say it is soooo hard - but I am up to the challenge. It stinks that it is going to take me so long to finish my pre-reqs.

I am not too sure about the school aspect of the whole nursing thing -- could I go to another college as a non-matriculated student during the summer and take a pre-req class there, and still have it count?

I never wanted to go back to school if I had to take business classes. I kind of fell in the business world just to make a decent wage but it hasn't been so kind to me in regards to promotions. The thought of taking business classes killed me so i decided to change careers. Now I am excited to go back to school to take something that interest me. Does your school offer online classes? It would be a great way to get the pre-reqs done. I considered doing that but I wanted to get the feel of the classroom after 20 years. My advice is find a way to pursue you goals. Time goes by fast so don't waste time doing something you don't enjoy, especially when it comes to your career. We spend most of our waking hours at work, so make the best of it. I can't wait to get from behind this desk and work a 3 day work week and enjoy the beautiful beaches of florida the rest of the week.

Good Luck to you
