Hey my name is Jessie. I will be graduating with my LPN in June...I want to go on to RN but not sure if I can...life! I was wondering about the LPN to RN online program? good or not? also how do I find where LPNs can work? I know homecare is out there but I want to work in the nursery? or jail? can a LPN work at these places in ohio?
Thanks

you know at this point i say go the extra year and become an RN it will open so many more doors for you. i dont know where lpns work but if you wanna work in certain areas maybe you should become an RN. you've suffered this much lol whats one more year in my opinion RN is better in everyway. financially, responsbility, rewarding, and the possibilities are endless for you. maybe one day when you get older you may wanna just put your feet up and not be a floor nurse. you cant do any of those positions as an LPN but you can as an RN. Go for the extra school in the end you will not regret it
:):) thanks
So are you saying go online or campus?

I agree that you should just go for the RN. That said, I know plenty of LPNs who are very good at what they do. Just remember this, LPNs do a lot of what an RN does, but the RN makes more money. You need to think of it in terms of cost/benefit ratio. How long do you plan to be in nursing? It will most likely be in your best interest to get your RN, but what your life situation is right now will dictate that. As for online programs, they can be fine, just be careful and make sure they will be recognized in your state. I personally believe you will get better training in a campus setting. Hope that helps.
