DON & FNP program

Just need some opinions/advice....

I am currently in school for my MSN for FNP.

My current employer is encouraging me to step into the DON position.

I question if it will be possible to do the DON job once I start clinical.

What are everyone's thoughts?

I'm going to go with probably not as the DON I work with now and in my last facility worked long hours M-F. Trying to coordinate clinical hours with advanced nursing education seems like it would be rough. But that's just my experience. Maybe other DON's don't have it as rough?
