I am a new GPN..I have a temporary permit... I went on a job interview and they told me that I had the job. But first I had to get a two step PPD...THe nurse did the 1st on right there at the LTC. WHen I came back for her to check my arm she told me that she had bad new she couldnt hire me until I passed the boards. SHe didnt have any real reason.. Then after I attended there pain management in house she told me you know what seeing that you're taking your board this month why dont you come in for Orientation.. Im Confused.. Right now Im just going with the flow Seeing that no one is hiring GPN at the moment.. WHAT Would you do if you where me?? Any Suggestions????

I got issued a interim/temporary license upon graduation. I was able to work with this until I wrote the national exam. They just paid us as top level NA's and when we passed and brought in our result card they back paid us to our start date the difference between NA and LPN wages.
I mean I graduated in October, missed the September writing by 10 days and the next scheduled exam wasn't until January.
Ask her if something like this would apply to you.
Remember you don't get if you don't ask...
