Does nursing school go by quickly? Seems like it'll be forever before I'm a nurse.

Just wondering today...

So, I'm thrilled I got my acceptance letter last week. Now, it seems like it'll be forever before I'm actually a nurse.

Granted, its only 3 semesters before I'm an LPN, then another two until I'm an RN (God willing) and it just seems like its such a long stretch of road out in front of me and its kind of discouraging in a way. When I think of being in the

class of '07 or '08 - it's only '05! LOL Its kind of discouraging....

So, just wondering if nursing school is, or had gone by more quickly or more slowly than you imagined it would.

Nursing school goes by so fast. I started in January 04 and graduated August 05. I just took my boards, passed and am now working. I still have to pinch myself sometimes to make sure I am not dreaming. It really does go by fast.

It does go by incredibly fast! Sometimes you will think that the end will never get here, but it does before you are ready!

Congratulations and good luck!

When I first started nursing school, I completely remember saying to myself, "5 semesters of this! It's gonna drag!" Boy was I wrong! Time never flew bye as quickly in my life! Before I knew it, May of 99 rolled around and I was in my cap and gown receiving my BSN degree! You'll be amazed at how fast it goes! Best of luck to you!

I felt exactly the same as you when I started nursing school Sept 04. As I got more into the semester however I found that every week seemed to fly by, you're just so busy you barely even notice the seasons changing. And then the first year was done and I couldn't believe how fast it passed.

I just started my second and last year Sept 05 and I'm back to feeling like you're describing... it's only around the corner but it's feeling like forever again... Once I get a little further into it tho I know I'll be back to that 'time is flying' mode.
