Does anyone know what an I797 is?

Hi- Ive just phoned the automated system at USCIS and apparently following reciept of my I140 I was sent a form I797 and I should follow the instructions on it. Ive since changed address and the form never arrived and its the first Ive heard of it today.

I finall got through to a real person at USCIS and they couldnt find any record of this form going out to me on their system. What is the form? Does anyone know???

If they are waiting for me to do something it might explain the delays with my application.

could be that they have asked for further information, usually goes to the lawyer so so I have always thought

Nothing will be sent to you, all material from them will go to the attorney that is handling your file. Contact the attorney.

And if they are requesting more info, it means that the attorney did not submit all that was required.
