Does anyone know anything about Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center?

Hi Everyone,

My husband is concidering taking a position in Idaho Falls, ID which would require us to move to Idaho. The nearest hospital that I could work at is Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center. Does anyone know anything about this hospital? Such as is it a good place to work, etc...?

Thanks for your help!

I have not worked for EIRMC, but I worked at portneuf for 2 1/2 years, and did clinicals at EIRMC. I have to say that EIRMC is a nicer facility, especially their OR. The difference is that EIRMC is a for profit hospital, and Portneuf Medical Center is not. There is a lot of new construction going on at portneuf, and the place is really run down. I think they're just letting the west campus go, because the hospital will be moved to the east campus in a few years.

The fifth floor of EIRMC is a nightmare. At least it was for my clinical class. The nurses on the day shift were pretty snobby, and weren't interested in helping us as students. But I think this may have been because of the overwhelming amount of students from other schools. There was still a lot of backstabbing going on among employees, though. Anyway, don't work 5th floor.
