I am starting back to college winter quarter, 2015! I am so nervous about going back to college! I am worried about riding the bus, finding my way around campus and everything else. I am even stressing about how to organize myself and studying for classes. I have not been on campus to college for 13 years. But I am looking forward to it all. I am excited about my goal to be a registered nurse and I know this is only the beginning with prerequisites. Everything is slowly falling into place from getting over the hurdle of what classes to take to how am I going to finance my education. I am definitely doing this on a wing and a prayer because I am still trying to figure out how I will pay for the rest of my education. I will be taking it quarter by quarter. Do you think this is too risky??Or should I just go with it?? I am hoping to receive assistance from working retraining or department of vocational rehab, still pending approval. Still grabbing at straws financially. I am just hoping for the best and taking it a couple prerequisites at a time.

Go the the college on a day off and just check it out. Ask someone in admissions if they can give you a tour to orient you to the campus. Most of your questions the school should be able to help you with. They have career counselors and all that to help students. Also talk with them about finical aid and for help to see what you qualify for. It is a LOT of work, but if it was easy everyone would do it. When I was getting my BSN I lived in a horrible apartment and ate like once a day. Good luck.

That is true, it is a LOT of work. Wow and you made it through it all. I hope that I am prepared for a LOT of work and make through with a BSN.

Good day:
I started going back to college last year at age 50 after being out of school for decades; yes, it was rough, but very doable.
Thank you.

You can do it! Once you start you will find your way. Ask lots of questions. Look for resources on campus (seminars, tutoring, writing centers, counselors) and use them! Once you dive in you will start to figure things out. I'm sure you know it's going to be hard but it's a path worth fighting for!
I am glad to hear you are succeeding at college. This is very encouraging.
Thank you for the encouragement. I will seek out the resources on campus next week.

Hi,
I am in the same boat as you are. It has been 15 years since I was in High School and I just finished my first semester back at school. Although at times it was pretty overwhelming (with a 12 year old and a new baby) I managed to make it through. I finished with 3 A's and a B and a 3.77 GPA. I believe you can do it also, you have made the first step just keep on going, the doors will open for you along the way.
Good Luck :)
Thank you MissLadie and Good Luck to you too.:)
