Do schools help with ebsco host and databases?

My biggest concern with going back to school is learning how to do research all over again. Mainly how to search databases with all those pety terms of "and" "Or" etc.

In my undergrad, which was an on campus program we went to the library for two days in one of the classes where they taught us how to use the online databases.

My friend is in the online drexel pnp program and said in one of her first courses, they took a class on how to do research with databases. Is this common in most/all programs to reteach students how to do these skills they may not have used for years? I've watched a youtube video and it's slightly coming back.

If needed, my sister is in med school, I'll have her teach me!

We had an optional no credit course in my MSN program that was primarily focused on using searches appropriately in peer reviewed journals. It was great!

My school has these creatures, I believe they call themselves "Librarians".... I'd never heard of them before, but they actually are trained on how to do this very thing, and get this, they are only a phone call or text message away! They also have recorded sessions you can watch where they explain how to do various queries so nighthawks can learn without calling them in the middle of the night! Amazing, eh?

I've never needed to try, but I bet a quick search on youtube would pull up a few good videos as well. It's amazing what is available online these days!
