We had a horrible float PCA this weekend. I'm assuming she was brand new because she didn't know how to collect or label urine specimens. Gladly taught her. Bigger problem was she was on her phone with headphones 90% of the shift despite bed alarms going off and us prodding her with tasks.
We also have a nurse who constantly falls asleep because she doesn't sleep after working night shift. She also disappears off the floor for sometimes hours at a time.
It seems like most staff complain to each other but never management. What do you do?
