Do CNAs have options?

If I become a CNA can I request to work with the kids or babies or is it strictly for adult care? I love kids I adore babies! Mine are all grown up now and I would really love to work in the kids unit or on their floor. Do you get a choice?

In my cna class, there was an ekg tech who had a job waiting for her in the baby nursery.. Have you tried looking for hospital positions in your area in the pediatrics unit? Also, try looking at private care positions for pediatrics.

Do you have to be a full LPN or RN to do the EKG? Or is that a seperate entity all its own?

I am currently a CNA and I am taking an EKG and Phlebotomy class at the end of the month. After, I plan to take the national exam and be certified in both.

I am thinking of signing up for a CNA class at a place that only has CNA and Caregiver classes. Should I take classes at a Community College if I want to be certified in EKG, CT, Respiratory, etc..? How long does it usually take for a CNA? This place is only 5 weeks and is really cheap. Should I beware? My daughters friend is going there. Not sure of their creditation? Please help!

Find out what the CNA requirements are in your state and go from there. My CNA school was liscensed by NY and it was 5 weeks long. I took that state test at the school.I don't know anything about CT or resp certs but you can discuss these with your CC of interest. If you you wish to be certified as an EKG tech, I say go for it. Good Luck!
