i thought I heard that starting in 2014, all NP students would be required to get their DNP. From reading around on allnurses, I can't tell now if this is true, or just the ideal. I checked the Mass BON website and couldn't find anything about it. I do not want my DNP, at all, and am quite confused. Anyone know the answer, or where to guide me to possibly find an answer?

Still a recommendation. It is not a requirement to have a DNP to practice as an NP.
See this thread https://allnurses.com/nurse-practitioners-np/2015-dnp-discussion-529004.html

Thank you! I had read those, it is just confusing. I originally heard that requirement from somewhere else but can't remember where. Thanks for clarifying!
