I'm debating between just doing the MSN or going all the way and getting the DNP. While I find getting the DNP appealing (terminal degree, I can teach later in my career, etc.), the thought of tacking on another year and a half of school and writing more research papers is daunting.
I'm going to pursue a dual FNP/ACNP program because I don't want to be limited in my choices. The ERs in my area prefer the dual cert.
So, what should I do? Complete the MSN or go all the way to the DNP?

You could get the MSN first, start working, and if you decide you want to go back for a DNP later, you can always do that, while earning a NP salary and gaining experience, which would be valuable if you want to teach once you have a DNP.
