Discouraged

So, I took my NCLEX-RN on 10/17 and did not pass :o

I know lots of people don't pass the first time but I'm just really discouraged right now. I was so ready to get my RN and be able to get out there and start working...and now I have to be a tech until I pass. :banghead: I feel so stupid and I feel like I've let so many people down. I'm stressed b/c I had to take an $8 pay cut from GN to tech. And I can't test again for 90 days, stupid NM!!!

I'm trying to stay positive, it's just so hard...

Anyway, I'm just venting. Thanks to anyone who actually read this.

((( HUGS ))) I just want to wish you good luck. Study as though you have not tested before. Have you considered doing Suzanne's Plan? Anyways, good luck.

:hngon:HANG IN THERE!

Hang in there ....Please just remember there are many of us all in the same situation. It is just a matter of time when you pass not a question of if you pass! keep that in you mind.

It is discouraging, but the nice thing is that you aren't just dumped by your employer. Working as a tech isn't like working as a nurse, but it's a job, right?

The hospital I just got an offer from does not hire GNs, which is an increasingly common practice from what I hear. With the advent of quick results from the NCLEX, there's no real reason not to wait until someone's "proven" themselves. So, I have the job if I pass. If not, I'm back to square one. I'd love to be in your shoes!

That said, I know it stinks anyway. Just learn what you can working as a tech, set out a study plan, and you'll be that much better prepared when you start. And you have allnurses rooting for you!

You're not alone...i too feel the same way. Took my test last 10/17 but my name is not on the list of brn CA so i've got a feeling that i didn't pass the exam. I don't know where to start again,i'm tired of reviewing...need to relax for a while...
