Dirty Homes?

I am a new Hospice Nurse Aide, and I have to visit a client that has been known to have a house infected with rats and roaches, I am currently not immune to Hep B, and I am on prednisone therapy, would it be wise to expose myself to a condition such as this?

Thank You for your Help~

Hep B is more a danger from adult inhabitants than the roaches.

It really depends on the severity of the infestation and the issues requiring the use of prednisone. Your health care provider would be thet best one to assess how dangerous this is to you as they know your health, the reason for the prednisone and the dosage.

I would be more concerned about the effects of the environment on your clients- you may need to report the living conditions.
