Difference between Cor & Code?

what is the difference between full COR and CODE, if any??? where did COR come from?

Featured Replies

I had never heard the term until I moved to Denver, but "calling a COR" is what they generally call it around here (although it's interchangeable with "code"). Now that I work in outpatient, we don't call CORs or codes, because we do not do ACLS. Instead we call "emergency response"

Ha, I just asked my husband, the hospice nurse, if he uses "COR" or "code" and he said "Out here in Colorado they use COR. I don't understand why. I use 'code'."
