Did you OVER-STUDY??

I've been studying since May and will take exam Sept. I get pinned in Aug. Hope I am in the right direction. I using Saunders

I don't think you can over study. The more you know, the more you know.

I just passed. Whew. I started trying to look up answers to what I didn't know on the exam. No way. Some items I could get a solid answer to--you know, textbook, but so many were judgment.

Who would you see first, a dying child, or a dying child. It was really hard!!!

Study as much as you can, and then trust your judgment!

I think it's definitely possible to overstudy. But the key is to do some studying and questions on a daily basis. It's much less stressful that way. I took the Nclex earlier this week and just found out I passed and looking back I wouldn't have changed a thing with my study techniques...I did about 100 questions a day for about 6 weeks. That sounds like a lot but once you get into the routine, you'll start flying through them and your scores will gradually improve. I used only one book for content review: meds publishing Nclex-rn review. I also went to my local library and took out 4 nclex review books (Mosby, Davis, Princeton Review, Kaplan) and just used the cd's from the book for the practice questions. Doing practice questions will help you learn to answer questions you don't know correctly. I also used the Kaplan strategy book to learn techniques for answering questions. I would say the questions I was asked are most comparible to Kaplan. Everyone has their own way of studying though. Just make sure to study daily but don't let it take over your life completely. Graduating from nursing school, you probably know more than you think you do. Sorry for writing a novel, lol. Good luck with studying!

I studied for about 2 or 3 weeks (that includes a 2 week Kaplan course). I just took the nclex this morning and got 75 questions (will find out sunday if I passed). The questions were EXTREMELY similar to the Kaplan practice questions. I would suggest using one book to review content and then do lots of questions, you will learn from the questions.

I just took NCLEX two days ago, and I really think I over-studied. Honestly, the questions were nothing like anything in any of the review books - except maybe that awesome Mosby Delegation & Prioritization book. That said, I passed in 35 minutes with 75 questions, so I did something right!
