I am new to this site and not sure if I am using the right topic but I have some questions that I hope U can get answered.
I had bladder cancer in 2013 and had my bladder removed, I use a urostomy bag. In August I found out I had tumors in both ureters and Dr's wanted to remove both kidneys. I decided to have Chemo first and did that for 3 months. Today I got the results from my pet scan and it shows no abnormalities at this time. My Dr says that because of the type of cancer(bladder), it will return possibly withing 3-4 months. I am so afraid to have both kidneys removed and have to start dialysis. Is anyone else faced with this problem?
Thank you for your help.

Wow, that's a lot to have to process all at once! I am so sorry you are going through all this. Per the site's Terms of Service, we cannot offer any sort of medical advice, but I'm hoping someone will come along soon who knows more about dialysis than I do and can tell you how they deal with their situation.
By the way, welcome to Allnurses! I hope you'll enjoy the site and all it has to offer. Wishing you the very best.
Hi Viva, I don't expect any medical information just wondering if anyone else is going through what I am going through and how they are coping.
Thanks, Deeg

I'm not sure you'll find a lot of responses here. This is a community for nurses and nursing students (mostly), not designed for patients who have gone through or are dealing with illness or injury and are looking for advice or sharing. If you're a nurse yourself who is going through this, consider going over to the Nurses with Disabilities forum (look above under Specialties), or to the Breakroom (link above).
You could also consider checking out the Renal Support Network (Renal Support Network: Dialysis Options) or one or more of the many support groups for renal topics listed here (Links | Life Options).
Good luck and best wishes.
