diabetic case study

I'm looking for a source to site (besides our text book, instructor takes points away when we use it)

the physiologic basis for why diabetic patients have polyuria, polydipsia, and polyphagia?

Are you saying that you need resources for the pathophysiology of diabetes? The answer to some of your questions are in the beginning of this article under the heading of "pathophysiology" and "history" on eMedicine: http://www.emedicine.com/med/topic546.htm. If you do a search of eMedicine for "diabetes" you will find other articles about diabetes. I'm sure many of them will also have some of the pathophysiology listed. I would recommend that you go to a library and look for books on pathophysiology to find the information you are looking for. If you know of anyone that has a copy of this book, you will find information in it as well: Pathophysiology: A 2-in-1 Reference for Nurses.
