This looks like the official site for the test:

And no, wanting to have an LVN by 45 or 53 is not too old. I hope to have my RN by the age of 46 and my BSN by 50.
You will find that there are quite a few non-traditional students working on getting into nursing school.

That is a good site however, don't be fooled by the science. That science was rough (for me). I took the PSB-HOAE. I guess you may be taking that one or the PSB-PN. Anyway I think it's the same except the HOAE has a vocational Adjustment index and the PN has a Judgement Comp section but there are 5 sections. Academic Aptitude, Spelling, Reading Comp, Science, and either vocational Adjustment (hoae) and Judgement (pn/rn). The Academic Aptitude consists of verbal (vocabulary, which word is not like the other), non-verbal (pictures, which one is not like the other) , and math (basic algebra, word problems). The Spelling was too easy. You may see words that you've never used or even heard of but just use the spelling rules and you'll be fine. Reading Comp was easy also. Hint: Do not read the passage just look at the questions and refer to the passage for the answers. I had too many people in my testing session not finish because they were reading those long passages. Science: ROUGH!!!!!!! brush up on your chemistry and physics especially Alkaline. Know how to convert from Celsius to Farenheit. Now don't get me wrong a lot of them were no-brainers but MANY were just questions that I didn't have a clue about. And vocational adjustment, was basically what do you think? type questions-like a myers-briggs. Overall, it really insults your intelligence but for me, that science was rough. I did good on it though but not as well as I wanted. I thought the science part would be just as easy as those specimen questions on the website but no no no!!!! actaully, none of that test was like those specimen questions. Good Luck though and don't stress out. It's just a test!

I just took the PSB-PN test today and did very well, but it was a bit tougher than I expected. It is my understanding that no study guide specific to the PSB-PN exists. Therefore, I would recommend using a study guide for any other common nursing school entrance exam. They all seem to have similar material.
I was surprised by the difficulty level of a few of the verbal/word-meaning questions. I have been a heavy reader all my life, so I didn't bother to study for that part. I was stumped on a couple of those questions.
The Judgement and Vocational sections are probably not anything one could study for. They are mostly common sense one would use in any profession. I have heard that a lot of folks have a tough time with the judgement part. Just be sure to carefully read each question AND each answer before choosing the best answer out of the choices given.
Good Luck!
