Degree Dilemma

I am about to transfer to BYU-Hawaii for both religious and financial reasons. I just recently decided I want to go into nursing and BYU-H doesn't offer a BSN. Is there a way I can still go to BYU-H and go into nursing? They offer degrees in Biology and Biochemistry. Help is appreciated!

If you want to be a nurse you must graduate from an accredited nursing program (BSN or ADN) to be granted permission to sit the national licensure exam, NCLEX, by a state Board of Nursing (which is the entity that confers your RN license-- RN is not a degree).

You can take whatever other degree you like, but you'll still need to graduate from some sort of nursing program to be licensed as a nurse. Although you may be able to take some of the prerequisites (anatomy, chemistry, physiology, and the like) elsewhere, depending on what courses your target nursing program will require/accept in transfer, if you really want to be a nurse, there's not much point to going to a school where they don't offer a nursing major.
