Deciding on A Preceptor

Hi everyone, I am in my second year of a two semester nursing program and we are going to pick out what area of nursing we want to precept in. I have a background in psychology so I was leaning towards psych nursing. In my program I have experienced a lot of different types of nursing and various floors that you can work on. I really enjoyed the teamwork I saw while shadowing a nurse in the ICU. I know the hospital I want to work at, I have never stepped foot in the ICU. What is your advice for a nursing student who loves pharmacology, has a very calm presence, (that has been something I have been told all throughout my clinical s) and loves therapeutic communication. I really want to work an environment where I can utilize my knowledge and critical thinking and has a great team work atmosphere. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks:)
