DE prerequisites and work

Hi everyone,

I am planning on applying to a few direct-entry programs for fall 2012. I am taking Chem I and Human Growth and Development this summer and I start working full-time on Monday. I planned on taking A&P I, Microbiology and Chem II this fall, but I will also most likely be working full time then as well. In the spring I was going to take A&P II and possibly re-take Stats. Since my job will be in shifts, I should not have trouble scheduling them. I just wondered if you think 12 credits while working full-time in the fall will be too much.

Taking 12 credits while working full time is manageable depending on which classes you are taking. You mentioned that you will be taking A&P I, Micro, and Chemistry in the fall and that is a lot. I was told by a Microbiology professor that taking A&P I and Micro in the same semester is very challenging and that many students who did it said they probably would have gotten better grades if they had taken them separately. Only you know what you can truly handle however don't overload yourself.
