Dayton, Ohio

Does anyone know what the typical pay for a STNA is around Dayton Ohio? Any info you can give me would help greatly. I am a 40 year old male who is currently employed as a supervisor in heavy manufacturing. I have thought about nursing since I was in my 20's. I decided it is now or never, I start LPN school in April, I have considered working as a STNA during school.

Specializes in Hospice.

Hey, bigcat. I live in Kettering, Ohio. I haven't heard much about salaries around here, but my understand is STNAs usually start around $9.00 per hour with no experience, with additional money for shift differential. I start my training class Monday, September 10 so I don't know for sure what the start rates are. Where are you going for LPN school? From what I've read here on this website, working as a nurse aide through nursing school is invaluable for the experience, but I'm sure you're not going to be close to your wage as a supervisor.
