CVS online application without local license

Published

Hello, I'm a fresh grad and I'm applying for NCLEX - RN in NY. I am a US citizen residing in the Philippines so I will not be taking the local boards.

For applying CVS online, there are questions that are required and I have no idea how to answer them. Any help will be greatly appreciated! Here they are:

- I recently worked in the country:

- I recently worked in the City / State / Province:

- I recently worked in the profession:

- I worked at this job for how many years?:

What should I put for country? Undetermined? Philippines?

For city/state/province: N/A? Or my city?

For profession? Unknown, Other?

Specializes in Complex pedi to LTC/SA & now a manager.

Moved to nurse registration forum.

Did you review the CVS application handbook? http://www.cgfns.org/files/pdf/apps/CVS_Handbook.pdf

If you have not recently worked in a country as a nurse nor have you been registered as a nurse (in any jurisdiction) you might want to consider that when answering the questions.

Also note that one must have either a premium paid membership or at least 15 quality posts before having access to the allnurses.com private messaging system.

Thank you very much! Was your online application process smooth? How long did it take for you?

And yes, I have checked their CVS handbook but it didn't answer the question I posed here. I haven't worked in a country or have been registered which is why I took to asking the question since there were no options that were "N/A".

Yes, the online process was pretty smooth. It took me a few days to complete because i also had questions similar to yours. Before you reach the end of the online application process it will ask you to print some documents which you will have to sign and get notarized and then send to CGFNS. It took 5 months for the whole process to be completed, yours may differ.

Thank you! Did you apply when you were already in the US?

In the degree obtained in the professional school, CGFNS automatically placed an X on it and I can't erase or change it since there's no option for it when filling in the blanks. :/ Can I just write under the X mark that I obtained a BSN?
