The letter that came with my acceptance letter says I will need a PDA. I have to get a new phone soon and was thinking of getting a blackberry. Will this work for their requirements of a PDA? Which PDA do you all use?
Thanks for the help.

If you go to the VUSN site, there is a wealth of information there about tech requirements/recommendations. Start at www.nursing.vanderbilt.edu then look at the QuickLinks on the left side of the screen. Click on "tech tools" and then you can find the computer recommendations.
Prespecialty students have not been required to have PDAs until the second year, but they may be changing that this year. I would check with the director of your specialty since the tech letter states that different specialties may have different requirements.
And, Welcome to Vanderbilt!

lvICU,
Prespecialty students do not need PDAs, but its "preferred" for specialty year. Get an iPhone if you can. The applications are great and easy to read because the screen is larger than most phone/PDAs. Of if you don't want to purchase a phone the iTouch works just as well and you can connect to wireless networks. Alot of students have blackberrys but most prefer the iPhone.
Thanks for the replies but I am not a prespecialty student so I will need a PDA upon entering the program this fall. In my acceptance letter there was information that said I would need a PDA. I am considering an iPhone but do not want to switch to AT&T if at all possible. I am hoping Verizon will get a contract with Apple soon (fingers crossed) Was just wondering if anyone has used a blackberry and how well it worked for them.
