Curious...........

a friend and i were talking and we were wondering if u could get license if u had a felony/misdemeanor. she has a misdemeanor 4 not having proof of liability insurance. does anyone if that would prevent her from getting licensure?

She needs to call her state nursing board.

Yes, it is individual to each state.

I would call and check, but I wouldn't think a ticket for no insurance would keep for from nursing school. I know a felony might as well as a charge that involves drugs, alcohol, sex crimes, theft, violent crimes etc. Here in Texas a no insurance misdemeanor is just a ticket the same a speeding, running a red light, or forgetting to buckle your seat belt.

Unfortunately, we at All Nurses can't tell you for sure what the BON will decide - please contact them.
