Hey everyone!
I know its a bit early but time flies fast and I pretty nervous so I'm sure other people are too. Is anyone applying to CSULB this upcoming semester for fall 2019? Just wanted to make this so we can talk about goals, nerves, points, and ask questions! Also, if there are any current or past CSULB nursing students...any advice? Hope to hear from u guys!

Hey, I am applying for fall 2019 too, I have finished all prerequisites. I am taking Teas on December, it seems hard for me because English is my 3rd language and I am here in America only two years( but I am in school full time and work very hard on it) , I couldn't get good score on reading, and I try them but still not good. Anyone studying teas too?
Hey! I just took the TEAS yesterday and scored a 87.3% overall and 85% in reading! I have a 4.0 so Im hoping it makes me competitive with 9.45 points. English was a lot harder than I expected and it brought my overall grade down by a lot (I got a 79.3, it was my lowest score), but hopefully my grades make up for it!!
Wow, I am taking Teas on November. I have both GPA 4.0. But I couldn't get good on Teas, I am trying pretest, how can you guys improve reading? I am nervous.
honestly the best way to get a high score is to take your time with reading and really try to understand what the answer choices are saying, try to find the answer that relates the most to the topic accurately. You got this!!!
Thanks, I think I am gonna do that. You are in good place, because the cut off of last year is about 9.33 for fall, and it seems easier if apply spring. I hope I can see you in Long Beach........
yes!! hopefully we both get in! :)

Hi! I will also be applying for CSULB. My points aren't too great though because I got a B in a 5 unit elementary chemistry course I took 3 years ago (prior to pursuing nursing; therefore I wasn't in the "must get all A's" mindset), and that's the grade they will be using. Even though I've taken advanced chem classes since then and gotten A's
Science GPA: 3.71 points
GE GPA: 2 points
TEAS overall: 92% = 1.84 points
TEAS reading: 83% = 1.66 points
Total points: 9.21 points
I am hoping to find an available date to retake the TEAS so I can get a higher reading score and boost my points. I don't know why I did so poorly on the reading, because I got 100% on reading on the ATI practice test. I just got some tricky passages and questions.
If only I had my 4.0 in science, then I would have 9.5 points and have a great shot at getting in

Hey guys, I’m also applying!
Science GPA: 4.0 (4 pts)
GE GPA: 4.0 (2 pts)
TEAS overall: 89.3% (1.786 pts)
TEAS reading: 87.2% (1.744 pts)
That puts me at 9.53 if I added right! I hope that’s competitive enough. Does anyone know what cut offs or averages looked like for the last admitted class?

For Fall 2018 the cut off was 9.32 I believe so if it stays relatively the same you should be safe to get admitted! That is, if the communication exercise isn't ridiculously hard
Does anyone if for the point system they count our overall GPA or the GPA of the prereqs that are listed in the nursing application (anatomy, physio, micro, chem, stats, critical thinking, oral comm and college comp)? Because at the bottom of the nursing application it says "Prerequisite General Education GPA" so I'm a little confused.
